Healthy gums start with regular professional cleaning. During this treatment, we remove tartar, plaque, and surface stains. We then polish your teeth so they feel clean and smooth again. Because every mouth is different, each treatment is tailored to your individual needs.
Gingivitis is a mild but common inflammation of the gums.
This is caused by bacteria in dental plaque that forms on your teeth every day. If plaque is not removed in time, it hardens into tartar.
Tartar cannot be removed on your own and must be professionally removed by a dental hygienist. Common symptoms include red, swollen, or bleeding gums, especially during brushing or when cleaning between the teeth. Fortunately, gingivitis is easy to treat and fully reversible with professional cleaning and good oral hygiene.
For children under 18, this care is covered by health insurance. We always assess each situation individually to determine what is needed to restore healthy gums. During the appointment, we perform a dental cleaning and provide clear instructions on how to care for the teeth.
Children with braces are advised to visit every three months for extra support with their oral care. Younger children are also very welcome for an introductory visit, where we provide parents with practical tips and advice.
Sensitive teeth occur when the tooth root becomes exposed. This can happen due to gum inflammation, wear, or incorrect brushing. As a result, your teeth may become sensitive to cold, heat, sweet foods, or acidic substances.
With good oral hygiene, gentle brushing, and special toothpaste, symptoms can often be reduced. Professional advice helps address the underlying cause and restore comfort to your teeth.
Periodontitis is a serious gum disease that extends beyond the gums.
The inflammation can spread to the jawbone, which may cause teeth to become loose. This occurs when bacteria accumulate beneath the gums and cause damage.
If left untreated, periodontitis will continue to worsen over time. With timely and proper care, further damage can be prevented.
This treatment is designed to stop periodontitis and restore healthy gums.
The treatment consists of:
Measuring the gums
We assess around each tooth how deep the inflammation is and where cleaning is needed.
Thorough cleaning
In one or more appointments, we thoroughly clean the area beneath the gums. We remove tartar, plaque, and bacteria using specialized instruments.
Explanation and advice
We show you how to care for your gums at home to help prevent new inflammation.
Regular check-ups and aftercare
These are important to maintain the results.
In some cases, additional examinations such as a bacterial test may be required.
Gum inflammation can also occur around implants. This can lead to bone loss around the implant. The inflammation is similar to that around natural teeth, but it often progresses more quickly. This condition is called peri-implantitis.
We have the knowledge and resources to treat this effectively from the very beginning.
Bad breath is usually caused by bacteria in the mouth. These bacteria are often found on the tongue, between the teeth, or around inflamed gums. A dry mouth, smoking, and certain foods can make the problem worse.
Good oral hygiene, including cleaning the tongue and regular professional cleanings, helps address the underlying cause. If oral issues have been ruled out, further investigation may be needed to identify other possible causes.
Implant cleaning
To prevent scratching the implant, we use specialized instruments. We clean the implant using the Airflow nozzle from EMS with a special powder designed specifically for implants.
Equipment
We work with the latest techniques and follow the Guided Biofilm Therapy protocol. Because the water in our chairs is heated, sensitivity is often reduced.
